ByGreetings from Malaysia!
I started my journey just after lunch on Wednesday the 28th and I finally got in to Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia at about noon local time on Friday the 30th. It was a very long journey and not without a few problems. To start with my flight out of Lubbock was delayed because of the snow the day before. I was really worried I wouldn’t make my connection in Dallas, but that flight was delayed as well so I made it OK! From Dallas I flew to Los Angeles (over 3 hours) and then from LA it was over 13 hours to Taipei in Taiwan. I had to get off the plane there for an hour or so, before reboarding for the final 4 hours to Kuala Lumpur.
By the time I got to KL (as Kuala Lumpur is called locally) I was really tired! I slept a little bit on the plane but not enough! Next task was a taxi to the hotel (another hour) before finally a shower! Hurray! Then even though it was 3 pm local time I fell asleep — my body thought it was about 3 am and it had had enough!
I’m staying in KL for a few days as there are always things I need to do here before going down to Kuala Lompat (the field station in Krau Wildlife Reserve). I have a long list of things to buy and people to see so I don’t think I’ll get to Krau until Tuesday.
Best wishes
Dr Kingston
